Jap Sentenced To Death

The article on the left describes the events which occurred on 10th June 1945, leading to the deaths of 46 POW's at the hands of their Japanese captors. The extract shown below is from the same newspaper article and gives an account of Sugino's reaction to the inevitable verdict and sentence. It is to be noted that Sugino, the man held responsible, was an NCO. These researchers have not discovered the fate of the Lieutenant whose orders Sergeant Sugino claimed to be following.
